Re: nearing 700

If you have credit cards leave a small balance such as $ 5-10 on each card instead of paying it off in full. By doing so you will get an increase in your fico score. How much will determine on all factors on your credit report. Only leave the balance right before the creditor reports it for the month. Then of course for the rest of the month pay off all credit cards in full.

Re: nearing 700

Please don't do this! Do NOT leave a balance on every card. Leave a balance on only one card; the others should report $0. (Pay online before the statement drops, or before the last business day of the month for HSBC/Orchard bank cards and USBank cards.)

Having a balance show on every card dings most of us for "too many accounts with balances."

OP, what negatives do you have on your TU report, and when did they occur? Did you open any accounts within the last year.

These will give you the background knowledge you need to understand what you read here on the forums.
