new credit history but Fico

Have a question, in which I have not seen others ask:

I am an immigrant ( in the land of immigrants) so credit history is not even 6 months, a few day off. Mid August. Due to some good friends I have been added to their City and Amex and have there been backdated a total of 8 years :-)  and have over 80K credit. My own credit card is with Comerica and has a mindblowing 2K credit line- begged the manager to get it (unsecure)- does not even pay my rent as more than 2K a month.. so a joke in terms what I make 135+K.

City shows 8.7 years, Amex shows something like 3 years history.

So while I have been able to sneak my way into the credit reports.. if I can generate a Fico score now, I am offical right? Meaning I can apply for a card, I guess my issue is that amex might smell it when they see that it reports me as having credit with them for 3 years, only to have been an authorized user for 5 months...

any advice?

I want the Amex platinum for travel/benifits

Welcome to America!

You would have a FICO score right now if those AU accounts are reporting. Creditors, like Amex, cannot discern whether or not you were an AU for 5 months or 20 years, so no worries there. In fact, you don't even need a FICO score to get credit, otherwise nobody would have credit because they didn't have a FICO. Make sense? It's just harder to get credit without established credit reporting. Now Amex will look more than just a FICO. They do look at FICO, but they also use an internal score they developed. And they'll also look at inquiries, new credit, residency, income, etc., so that new CC with Comerica could be an issue. You can app and see what Amex says.

Re: new credit history but Fico

just hit the trigger, TU FICO said 702, but have about 12K on one of the credit cards, always pay in full, so once done- score will significantly increase.

Seems EQ, did not have the correct SSN with my name, so had to fax them alot of info, 7-10 business days I'll be back to run the score.
