"Cancelled by Creditor" vs "closed by creditor"

I have an old Cap1 entry in my report that shows only 5 months of payment history (all ontime) from 2005/2006 and a comment of "Cancelled by Creditor" and $0 balance. Is there any reason I'd want to get this removed? It was reported in Feb 2006.

Naw, leave it on there. Based on what you said, it's not hurting you a bit.  Might be helping with average age of accounts (AAoA).

Any idea why Cap 1 canceled it? While it's true the Cancelled by Creditor comment isn't hurting your score, if your score is decent you may want to get them to reopen it so it doesn't fall off your report sooner than necessary. As is it will probably come off of your credit file within the next year, which, if you don't have a lot of aged accounts, could lower your AAoA.
