"Short Revolving History" on EQ

My EQ is lagging far behind (712 EX, 705 TU, 684 Eq). Noticed it is because of this reason overall. EX only recognizes my oldest revolver as one from Feb 2017.

It does not seem to be taking into account a 2004 card (closed 2014) nor an AU card. Is there a way to get them to recognized those accounts in the calc (they are on the report). Seems odd given they say I have long credit history as part of the same report (AAoA of 7 yr, 4 months) and include the above referenced closed card as my oldest account.

Re: "Short Revolving History" on EQ

In your list of 4 negative reason statements, where does the short revolving history one rank?

I see something similar as my #2 negative reason statement on TU Fico 8 with my score there being 850, so FWIW the penalty may not be great.

I would say that's not the "reason overall" that your score is lagging behind.  What does your payment history and utilization look like, as those 2 factors comprise roughly 2/3 of the Fico pie?

It is not a clean file. Have 2 60 days in 2016. I am more concerned that paying down UTIL from 49 to 32 has gained 15+ points for TU and EX, while EQ remains unchanged. UTIL is at 32.2% overall (but when updated it will be sub 28). Spread of accounts is (updated but not reporting yet):

Aspire- 22%

CSR-31%

FU- 39

Free- 11

Prime visa- 12

when at 32%:

Aspire- 32

CSR- 38

FU- 44

Free- 8

Prime- 10

Re: "Short Revolving History" on EQ

I can assure you that your late payments are likely your #1 negative reason statement, then your balances being too high (utilization) is probably your #2.  Young age of revolver(s) would be very distant to those factors, IMO.

That I agree with. Just confused why on EQ it weighs so much more than TU and EX?

Re: "Short Revolving History" on EQ

No real answer to that, just that the different bureaus do indeed weigh some factors differently and that's "normal" I suppose.

Re: "Short Revolving History" on EQ

Short revolving history was identified as AOYA on a few datapoints.

Seems weird but I can’t explain everyone’s data except to suggest AOYA for FICO 8 is explicitly on revolvers.

Re: "Short Revolving History" on EQ

Did you get a new card within the last 4 months? What's the age of your youngest revolving account?

I had that 'Short revolving history' reason on my EQ 8 score for 3 months after opening 2 cards at the same time.

It disappeared completely at AoYA 4mos / AAoA 8mos. (Average Age of Open Revolving Accounts at 4mos.)

The funny thing is, I have only had 3 reasons listed on EQ FICO 8 since that time:

[Short credit history, No recent loan activity, Too many accounts with balances]

I posted the info here: EQ drops 'Short revolving history' @ AoYA 4mos +8

Many of my 28 FICO scores saw that reason shift down in the list at 3mos and 6mos. On some it just fell off completely at 6mos.

Re: "Short Revolving History" on EQ

With my AoYA being > 24 months I still see that negative reason statement on some models (like TU Fico 4).

On all the scores that have 4 reasons listed after 'short revolving history' disappeared, I am sure I'll see it pop up again at some point. There's gotta be a whole long list of stuff waiting to come up after #4 on my scores.

I was just surprised at EQ having only 3 reasons listed after that happened.

These are the shifts in reasons on mortgage scores going from AoYA 5mos to AoYA 6mos. (AAoA 9mos to AAoA 10mos.)

Top line is what happened at 6mos.
