Can I block avatars?

Is there any way to make a given user's avatar just look like a generic smiley face to me? Or make all avatars invisible to me?

Creativity is one thing, but some of those .gif or whatever "video images" get kind of annoying.

No, there’s no way to block them. However, if any include flashing images, let a Moderator know and we will take a look at it
