Ignore button for boards?

Hello,

I've read a couple of historical posts discussing the possibility of introducing an "ignore posts by user" function in the FICO boards.

Out of curiosity, is this functionality going to be introduced?

Thanks very much! Smiley Happy

Re: Ignore button for boards?

I don't think this one is going to happen. For instance, I could choose to ignore a member, and then that member stops doing whatever it is that's so annoying, and then I'd never know and never remember to "un-ignore" and start reading again. And if an ignore button would let individual posts be skipped in a thread, it would become almost impossible to make sense of the thread. Plus any quotes by the please-go-away member would still show up.

I have to admit, I'm really over the Word Association thread. Smiley Very Happy The way that I get it to stop showing in bold blue (unread) is to read whatever else I want to on that board, and then click Board Options on that board home page and select Mark All As Read.

Then it goes away until someone posts again, which appears to be in a matter of moments. Smiley Tongue

I haven't been around all that long, so I was cousious to see those historical posts but I couldn't find any so if you could point me to them I'd appreciate it.  I haven't heard of any feature that would allow users to "ignore posts by user" but I will ask around.

You do have the option to ignore a user but then that only keeps them from sending you a Private Message.  See "What is my Ignore Users List and how do I add users to it?" under the Help -> LINK

Re: Ignore button for boards?

Thank you, Hauling and Moose Smiley Happy

To your point, Hauling, this option can sometimes cause a little "reader confusion" in a thread (and of course, it would not eliminate quotes).  However, some might prefer occassional confusion Smiley Wink    I was just curious to see if this were an option in the works.

Moose: The threads I referenced were located by doing a search on "ignore button" (in quotes): http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/FICO-Forums-Technical-Help/Ignore-button/m-p/34992/highlight/true#M3... and http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/FICO-Forums-Technical-Help/Ignore-Button/m-p/96833/highlight/true#M6...

Thanks again!

Yes, those do go back way back in history!  Since that time the SmorgasBoard was created to curb the off topic discussions on the main boards.  I talked to Raine and the "ignore feature" is not currently in the works.
