ok, i have been having a lot of problems with posting lately, in terms of formatting. i can't change the font, center text, change font size, or anything because then it will say that i have invalid html, & undo all of my changes, & not let me post. is this a firefox problem? i'm using firefox 3.6 because i hate IE

Hi laz. It's been awhile but I have had that happen to me with FF and IE. When that happens what works for me it to hit the "Preview" button one or more times and it will usually clear itself up.
But your problem might be completely different than mine. In any case mod moose (admin) is very good about monitoring this board and she can help you much more than I can.

hmmm...i never tried toggling back & forth between the two....sometimes i hit it once to see how it looks but that's about it. i'll try it next time!

Now I didn't mean going from FF to IE and back trying to fix this problem. (If that's what you mean) I meant at separate times (I no longer have FF) I have experienced this and hitting "Preview" seemed to work with either system.

Ooo, are you getting the pink screen of death, too? 
It's making me nuts. Whenever I try to copy/ paste something, all heck breaks loose, even though the source is a forums post. It keeps telling me to fix the invalid html, but it won't tell me what it is or how to post it.
I just keep hitting enter enter enter, and usually it finally goes, but something doesn't work right on the final product: indents, or a link, or whatever.
I'm also on FF 3.6.16, on a Mac.

yes! i hate that #$%$%& screen! i tried just hitting enter repeatedly today, but then it blocked me from posting because it said i was spamming the board

Hi laz98,
Sorry to hear you are having these problems. Let me look into this and see what I can find. I've upgraded to FF 5 so I can't test FF 3.6 any longer but I'll check the FF5 here.
