Now correct me if I am wrong but,

Anytime there is a change in your FICO score, ScoreWatch will update it.  It may not trigger an alert, but the change in score will be shown correct?  I was just wondering cause I just pulled my report and it was higher than what was last shown to me and this isn't the first time I've seen this.  So I wasn't sure if I was misinformed or what.  Thanks

What is your target score set to? The change in score needs to "cross over" your target score in order to trigger an alert. Crossing over includes leaving from the target score.

So if your target score is 770, but your current score is actually 775 and moves to 780, or to 771, your target is never crossed, and you don't get an alert.

The moment I find that my score has changed, I re-set my target to that new score. With the target score equaling the current score, movement either up or down will mean that the score has crossed the target, and an alert is generated. Of course, all I get these days is +3 or -3, but it keeps life exciting. Smiley Tongue (And it is technically possible that your score had changed again before you reset your target, but this will catch most of the changes.)

It helps to think of scores as being only potential, not real, items. A score doesn't exist until someone requests it. When this happens, the most current report is pulled, and whatever info is on there (correct or incorrect, current or incomplete) generates a score. So you can think about your scores eternally changing in the background, but it's really more accurate to think of your reports continually changing. At any given point during these changes, if you reach in and pull a report, that's when a score happens.

Hi Nmbr1ballr...Score Watch won't necessarily alert you to ALL Equifax score changes. This is because, while credit (report) changes are monitored daily, score alerts are monitored weekly.

As a result, you could have multiple score changes within a week and not be alerted to all of them. Also, if there's a time lag between your last score and resetting your target, you could miss some target score alerts. It remains good advice, however, to reset your target score to your last Equifax score so that you will get as many alerts as possible.

Ok thanks.  Also I have been trying to change my target score and it keeps giving me an error saying

 

"There is a temporary problem updating your alert settings. Your alert settings have been reset to their original values.

We apologize for this inconvenience. The Score Watch support team has been notified of this problem and will work to fix it. You can try again to update your settings in a few hours"

 

Its been like this for at least a few days.  Just so they know.

Sorry, but there are some technical issues going on with Score Watch at Equifax that are preventing the setting of Score Watch alerts.  You may want to check with customer support for more information if it's not resolved by tomorrow.

That's how it's supposed to work, but I found that it did not.

 

I had the free trial for 1 month (mid-Oct through mid-Nov). I pulled my score at the beginning of the month and set my alert to that score so that any change would be flagged. I never received any alerts in the entire month, but when I pulled my score again just before the trial expired, my score had increased 32 points!

 

That was when I canceled. Based on what I've read on these boards, the alerts don't work well or consistently.
