So, I could barely sleep last night because I got an email last night from Equifax letting me know that my last Collection had been deleted. I tossed in turned all night because I was so excited about what SW was going to send me.
I get my SW alert and it tells me that my score has dropped 3 pts from 702 to 699. I was totally let down but decided to go directly to Equifax's website to see what it had to say and lo and behold my score jumped 51 points!
I know that it's correct because I called and did a CC app and got my rate lowered on an existing car loan with them. They showed 753 as well.
What's up with this bum Alert???
I've been happy with the service so far but this false information nearly ruined my day, If I hadn't gone directly to the source.
But I though myFICO was that source too.
My SW alert is from 9/30/09. Apparently, my score jumped up today so I guess I'll get an alert tommorow.

You remind me of this story found in Micheal Halls book.
A very old Chinese Taoist story describes a farmer in a
poor country village. His neighbors considered him very
well-to-do. He owned a horse which he used for plowing
and for transportation. One day his horse ran away. All his
neighbors exclaimed how terrible this was, but the farmer
simply said "Maybe."
A few days later the horse returned and brought two wild
horses with it. The neighbors all rejoiced at his good
fortune, but the farmer just said "Maybe."
The next day the farmer's son tried to ride one of the wild
horses. The horse threw him and the son broke his leg.
The neighbors all offered their sympathy for his misfortune,
but the farmer again said "Maybe."
The next week conscription officers came to the village to
take young men for the army. They rejected the farmer's
son because of his broken leg. When the neighbors told
him how lucky he was, the farmer replied "Maybe."

Over what period of time?
Btw I used to be one of those villiagers. I still have my moments but now, for the most part, I choose what I allow to get me excited. I just got a SW it said I lost 1 point. ***crys***

There's always a delay in SW alerts. That first one was probably for something that happened a week or two ago. Then the one for the deletion of the collection came trudging on through.
Read Barry's stickied thread on how the alerts work up at the top of this board --that might help explain the lag.

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to pick my whiney battles, LOL!
I started working on my credit 6 weeks ago. My score at the time was 653. So, I've gone up 100 points total since August 19...that's when I first pulled my scores.
How?
4 deletions, 2 that I just disputed and I guess cuz they were old got deleted...from 2002 and 2 that I PFD'd totalling $1060.00
Also a GW that got 4/120 & 1/30 day lates removed.
I have a clean slate now, so I'll just keep doing what I've been doing the last few years...paying on time. I just learned about utilization since coming to this site so that's my goal now as well. The $10,000 CL card I got yesterday should help with UTL for sure.
yeah, I think I'm okay now. I'll have to learn to be more patient and not get so uptight about a drop of a few points here and there. It's bound to happen to the best of us, right???
