I just got done with school and I'm working a FT job. I've only kind of poked the world of consumer credit. My parents don't take a very educational approach to money- only telling me that credit is bad. Well it's true to an extent- it's only bad if you don't know how to manage it.
My HS had a 1 hour "credit" seminar that skimmed FICO scores but didn't go too in depth. My college just sent me financial guide emails saying (literally) "Are you in debt? You're SOL!"
So I took it upon myself to know more and I stumble here to myFICO. At first I was skeptical and did the 10 day trial. I really liked it. Canceling was a breeze and I was concerned it wouldn't be an immediate request. (Honestly it looks like it would take you guys some time to cancel when it's actually immediate)
Anyway, I think by monitoring my credit score and lurking on the forums will educate me more about credit. I think what you guys do is awesome and $15 a month is a small price to pay for information.
Thanks a lot for the awesome website
Glad you found us, spengbab! And thanks for the nice words.
By hanging out here I've got to think you're already ahead of most people your age when it comes to knowing how to handle credit. I know a lot of us old timers wish we had known this kind of thing when we were your age.
Best of luck to you!
