I checked my TU report and my score had dropped dramatically from 658 to 587.....I checked my report and found that a company called Santander Consumer USA did an inquiry on my TU credit report on 12/05/09 and then placed a collection in the account area of my report for a car that I had attempted to purchase in 2/2000.  The problem is that I did purchase a vehicle from Drive Time during that period, but 2 weeks later I lost my job and I called Drive Time and asked if I could return the car since the paper work hadn't been processed entirely and they said yes. So I returned the vehicle. I am looking to purchase a home in the near future using the CALPERS Home Loan Program.  I have contacted a loan officer twice in the last year to see if I qualify.  I got their names from the list provided on the CALPERS site. I've only talked to 2; and the 1st one wanted me to pay some company $1200 to do credit repair(which I passed on and did my own credit repair!) and the other only told me that I have too many collections, even though the collections were scheduled to fall off this year. They never seem very interested in helping me qualify for FHA and complete my goal. Since my last conversation with an LO a few of my old collections have fallen off, but I still have 2 collections on my account which are Midland (whom I am just going to pay the settlement offer and try to GW later because they won't PFD and it's within SOL) and Rickenbacker which I have disputed because I don't know what it is for, (waiting on response from CRA's because they didn't respond to my DV) both of these accounts were placed on my CR in 2007. I have been rebuilding my credit in the past 13 months and would really like to know if I am on the right track.  I would really really like to make a home purchase soon. Logged into walmart.com to do some browsing for christmas.  I found a couple of items,and proceeded to check out,then on my way to check out I clicked on the credit card links (don't know why.....it was waaay down at the bottom of the screen) and low and behold a message comes up and says "you are pre approved for $500 CL for walmart cc". Of course I thought, yeah right, was just denied in July 09!  Then second thought was "what the hey", all my information was already entered in the application except for a few important things like SSN, phone, and employed".  So I entered information and wammo,  after processing was completed (60 secs or less), the words I've been waiting for "Your approved for $500, you can complete todays order using your new cc".   Well me being me.  I took some items out of my cart and got the balance down to $12.00, plus tax and .97 cent shipping ($14.02 total) and checked out!    Didn't want a balance and I will PIF shortly after I receive my new CC in the mail!     Thnx MyFico!! ... I had 2 colloections drop off my EQ and my score remained the same.  I thought for sure I would get some kind of increase, but didn't receive anything.  I have 1 collection left to drop off next month. And 1 collection from Midland that is an old Tribute CC from 2006 that I'm debating on just paying them cuz they have not responded to a PFD, but they have sent me back payment plans!  And of course it's still showing in account section.  To anyone that reads this, do you think I have been rebucketed? or not?     ... I had an unauthorized charge on my new Cap1 that put me over the limit by $16.04.  I knew my statement date was close so I paid $25(from BofA bill pay) to bring it under my limit of $300.  I then PIF through Cap 1 and they have put my account on hold for 7-10 business days.  The reason being as stated by CSR is because I made multiple payments within 30 days.  So I guess next time I will PIF with one transaction instead of two. ...
