PenFed or DCU membership PLUS auto loan questions?

So my scores will soon be above 700. My DTI% is about 20-21% with me making about 60k a year. I plan to apply with a CU and also apply for 40k auto loan. Due to me having a couple collections, will that hinder me from being accepted into the credit union? Which one is easier to get into and get auto loan, DCU or PenFed? Please help. I wanted to do a 60-72 month loan. ALL ANSWERS AND FEEDBACK APPRECIATED.

I don't see a problem gaining membership with either with DCU u can call and do the auto loan app over the phone if approved then they will set up your membership. Anyone can join DCU or Penfed.  As to the auto loan approval u wont know until u try.
