If anyone has access, can you let me know when last Alliant sp was? Thanks.
I just checked and I've never had an AR from them on EQ. I've had an account there since January. There is a chance they just did an AR that isn't showing yet though since there is a delay sometimes in it showing on EQ.
@12njoy wrote:I got locked out of my account and had to call Alliant. the rep said I see that you have a promotion on your account for a visa. I explained that I already applied. I asked if they use the same HP within 30 days and she said yes. I was just denied on 7/11/16 so very likely that this will be denied. She said this is a preapproval based off a SP but she couldn't tell me when the SP was done. She said, as we all know, once you apply then they review your full credit file. She emailed the loan officer to let him know that I have an existing HP that is good for another week. She said these are targeted offers based on the SP that you meet/met certain criteria at that time. Worse case scenario I'm denied and no new HP.
Maybe you can request a new HP if you feel your current report warrants it?

Hmmm. I wonder is it based on the EX score they provide us on their website.

A new HP wouldn't help. I maybe have 6 new HP's on EQ and debt decreased about $1,500 with another new cc reporting (zero balance). I don't see a new HP being fruitful which likely leads to a denial. I really think it's the available credit that has them weary. The rep tried to convince me to take out a personal loan, a secured loan, and even an auto refinance. They are obviously trying to increase their customer base. She even sent me an email requesting that I let her know if the cc doesnt work out so I can pursue other credit options with them. I'm thinking the whole time, why would I need any type of loan as she's going on about an emergency and ensuring that I have funds to cover such emergencies.
Dear Applicant:
Hello, this is Scott, your loan consultant from Alliant Credit Union. I received your application and thank you for applying. Unfortunately, we were unable to approve your credit card request at this time. You will receive a letter within 7 to 10 business days regarding the denial reasons which includes the opportunity to receive a free credit report. Let me know if you have any questions.

Geez. So now we know the "Offers" aren't guaranteed. Sorry 12.
No problem. This is what I suspected might happen, but it was a new HP.

Dang, they send us these emails and apparently they aren't really of any use. I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger on mine. I've had enough issues with Golden1 lately. I think I may just avoid these "smaller" CUs for the time being.
