Created my account while I was at work as soon as I got the email! It began today and doing manual counting, January 3rd is day 61 from the opening day. Hard to wrap my head around being trusted with that much credit in such a short amount of time, but it looks good on me.
Amex is a bank that relies on their own money and their own internal scoring more than most banks -- and they have the decades of growth and profits to prove it works well (for them).
Use the card well to earn rewards, don't pay interest on it, and you'll grow magically. I've seen so many stories of folks starting with $2000 and going to $6000 and then going to $18,000 in a year -- not everyone grows that fast but there's proof of it. Good friend of mine is sitting on a $24,000 Amex credit card from a few years back and his other cards are all $2000 or $3000.
Card should come pretty fast for both of us! I was approved on Wednesday and nothing came today so I'm hopeful for Monday! Can't wait to use it on 6% groceries and going to get an AU who uses a lot of gas if they offer an AU with a bonus offer.

The BCE is currently the only other one on my bucket list, but I was under the impression that one was slightly harder to get than the Everyday card. Maybe I was mistaken, I dunno. As it stands, I'll let my Discover and Everyday cards grow because Discover eventually automatically graduates to unsecured after.. 8? months. Capital One supposedly does not like to do the same so I'll probably venture away from them as time goes on and I move to more prestigious cards.
It'll likely be a year or so before I take a shot at anything else. Time I settled down on the three I have and ride the wave.
