Just figured I'd share my recon success with Chase today. I applied for the Freedom on March 3rd, and apparently they sent the denial letter on the same day (at least, that's the date on the letter). My score on the letter was a 700 "Card Acquisition Risk Score" - they pulled from TU and my TU FICO is 706. Two total revolving accounts, oldest is 6 months with a $500 secured limit, newest is 4 months with a $400 unsecured limit (AAoA is 5 months).
Called the backdoor number for the credit analyst (888-245-0625), was asked a few more questions (how long have you been at your current job, how long have you lived at your current address, etc), and was approved for $500! It's not much, but I'm happy to get my foot in the door with Chase, especially with such a short credit history.
Congrats!
Congrats on your recon success !!

Applied for this card on a whim; instant approval for $1,500.
I'm impressed - not only is that currently my largest credit limit on a single card (and more than doubles my current overall limit), but I'm also pleasantly surprised that I was able to get approved for 2 cards in one day.
Needless to say, my current secured card is getting sockdrawered, with a few small purchases a month.
Shoot, accidentally posted this in the wrong forum again... would a mod care to move it to Credit Card Approvals?
Congrats
