A little bit of Synchrony history: I had way too many cards with them last year, I will admit: 12 cards total, at my highest. I was working very hard to rebuild, and got too carried away in too short of a period. I got the now-infamous blue envelope right after I started getting approved for their majors (Marvel, Stash, and PP MC). I subsequently closed all of my accounts, and severed all ties with them. I also recognized that there were a few cards that I really valued, and if given the opportunity, I would open just a few with Synch and do so over an extended period of time, and no weekly calls to Credit Solutions for CLI!
Anyway, the cards I wanted were Care Credit (my old CC account I had had for 12 years and I LOVE the 0% financing for up to 2 yrs), Amazon, Gap, and Walmart. I achieved the 1st 3 in the span of almost a year, spreading out my applications, and just added Walmart MC this morning. I had a regular Walmart store card with them before the blue envelope, and the CL had gotten up to $7K. I tried back in January of this year to get approved again, and I was denied for an odd reason: "Too many accounts" was literally all the denial said. Did that mean too many NEW accounts? Too many accounts with Synch? I wasn't sure, and didn't bother to inquire further. I gave it a shot again this morning, as I am looking to purchase a new mountain bike and the statement credit would come in handy.
TU score as of this morning: 697, no new inquires in the last 4 months (overall though TU has inquiries in the high 20s). Last account opened with Synchrony was Dec '16.
I won't push Synchrony any further. I am very happy with what I have!

Nice to see you again OhReally. Congrats on getting your Wally back but the better version. What limit did thry give to start with? Thanks and enjoy
Hi AJC!! It's always great to see your uplifting and encouraging posts, thanks so much! I was pretty stoked to get the MC this time around! I honestly expected another denial, and was hesitant to apply, but glad I did. They approved me for $1200 with a temp limit of $700. I'm sure it will grow quickly, though definitely pacing myself with the CLI calls this time around!

Yay congrats and smart move on spreading them out and being careful this time
Thank you, Aduke!! Yes, lesson definitely learned from last year's shenanigans! I'm just happy to have the few cards I really wanted from Synch!
Congratulations!!
