I'd say that Blue Cash is best if and only if you use it for everything you possibly can. It can be hard to get enough charges on there to shift into the higher reimbursement area, especially if you aren't feeding 5 kids or something.

The Costco True Earnings card is good (at least for AmEx standards), but it's definitely one of the harder ones to get.

I completely agree with this. When I got the Blue Cash, I was completely happy. It looked like such a great card with the "up to 5%" categories. For some big spenders it really is. I only use my Blue Cash to rack up a little monthly balance to keep it active. My BoA 2% on everything yields much more cashback regardless of my spending habits (if you calculate the Blue Cash overall cashback for spenders who charge $12K+ annually, it amounts to about 1.6% or slightly below. I like the Blue Cash but unless you spend a lot, the cashback is virtually minimal. With the Discover More you get much more cashback just from spending on the 5% categories than you would with the Blue Cash on a higher spending level.

I like my Blue Cash, still. It's a decent enough card. And it looks snazzy, too. Congratulations!

@For some reason the tiers for the Blue Cash are high, Tier one 17.24, Tier two 19.24 and tier three @ 21.24%. But it doesen't really matter if you don't carry balances.

What do you mean by tier? I assuming tier one would be for people with over 760 FICO, tier two is 700 over and tier 3 670 and over? Is that what you meant? I'm just guessing Smiley Very Happy

My credit usage doesn't do much good for the points-rewards cards, although I know of people who travel endlessly using the cards and do quite nicely.

Thank you  Hauling for the great informations. Maybe one day when I do make enough money then I'll put this baby to some serious usage. For now I'm just glad that AMEX even gave me a Charge and revolving credit account.

Thanks to everyone on this forum!!!Smiley Happy

Re: APPROVED AMEX BLUE CASH!!!!!!!!

Was the blue cash showing as preapproved on the amex site for you? Just curious because I just recently got the Zync in August and do not see any preapprovals yet.

Thanks!

Re: APPROVED AMEX BLUE CASH!!!!!!!!

You can check for pre-approvals. Just go to the credit card page and look for "see your card offers". Sign-in and see what comes up.

Good Luck

When I do this, there is like 17 different cards that pop up. Does that mean I'm pre-apprvoved for any one of them? Not that I want or need any more cards.
