I recently applied for an AMEX Green but got declined saying my EQ FICO score was 521. When I checked my EQ FICO score on myfico.com it reads as 668.
I sent over a copy of the myfico.com report to AMEX along with a reconsideration letter, now just waiting for a reply.
Why is AMEX getting a different score? Has anyone had any success with AMEX GREEN + Reconsideration?

Are you sure Amex didn't pull your Experidian score instead of your Equifax? In my understanding, Amex almost always pulls Ex. Even with a myfico EQ score of 668, your credit may not be good enough to be approved for amex unfortunately. If they pulled 521 from either EXp or EQ, there is almost zero chance that you will get approved through recon. I'm not trying to be a downer. This is just the reality of the situation. What is behind your credit scores? By that I mean what do your credit reports look like? Do you have a long credit history? Do you have any late payments? With more info we could help you more. Good luck. And welcome to the forums..
Double check the bureau and the score range.
I know Amex doesn't use the EQ Beacon 5.0 found here; I have to assume they're using '08 or possibly Bankcard-enhanced. There's a number of reasons why any given algorithm used may vary your score, but unfortunately there's some ridiculous number of scores, and we have access to very few of them.
End of the day, for a mortgage the EQ score here is currently exact, and will be until the GSE's change their underwriting practices. Everything else, YMMV.

Did see any pulls at all on my EX checked my EQ and also got notified by EQ that AMEX pulled my report twice. first time being the intial application and the 2nd after I sent the reconsideration letter.
I have a student loan of $2,600 that has been paid on time and current. Also had a First Premier back in 2007 hat has been closed and paid off but was 120 days late back in 2007.
Had 2 other AMEX accounts as an authorized user back in 2006 - 2008. 1 account was a Centurion card: that has seen been long closed, myfico.com reports it with a high limit of "290,400" and the other account was an AMEX Platinum that has been closed too with a high limit of 11,219. Both accounts reported as "Paid as Agreed"
Good thing you got away from First Premier. Those fees will kill ya. Capital One is a great choice for a builder card and no fees like First Premier. I am not sure why there was such a huge discrepancy with the score amex pulled. It could be an enhanced score like someone else said. With the zillions of different scores out there, equifax has been a little more transparent than most. The score offered on this site and directly from the equifax website are real FICO scores (sometimes labeled as Beacon scores) and should be close to each other. Slight variations in algarithm definately dont account for a 100 point swing in score in my opinion so something else is going on here...

Is first premier showing on your CR?
It is. But it has been dormant for 5+ years now.
It it really weird because myfico.com EQ reads 668
but checking with my Equifax Complete Advantage Plan directly with EQ and they say my score reads 561.
So now the mystery deepens further....
Thanks everyone for the welcome to the forums too.
This is why we say NEVER EVER TRUST FAKO SCORES!!!!! if its not a FICO score chances are you cant trust it. ive had FAKO scores say 800+ and in real life maybe 702.. .the swings can be huge. Credit karma is heavy on inquires and utilazation, but fico factors differently
When you get the rejection letter from Amex, it'll most likely have your experian score/date pulled, but regardless of what CRA is listed, that will be your actual card enhanced fico, whether it be ex,eq,tu. Typically ex is first in line, then they pull others when the app is questionable, or borderline, so they can make a determination. I mentioned FPr, as they're not a good thing to have visible, when a big name card player makes an interal score/risk assessment.
AMEX historically pulls EX. Back when I was still unwise and I applied for an AMEX, they pulled all three. My credit was very iffy at best at that time, which was probably why they pulled all three. I just think it is odd they will only pull EQ but you never know
