BoA secured?

Does anyone know how the deposits work with this card? Does your deposit match your CL or is it like cap1 secured where the deposits depend on your score? I'm trying to find my husband another secured card with a low deposit, he only had to pay $99 for his cap1 secured. Thanks in advance!!

Re: BoA secured?

It is your credit limit the deposit not like capital one. I would be carefull applying for this card cause you can get denied even tho it is a secured card. They denied my in dec'12. I am not mad cause 2 months later I got a unsecured card with capital one after having my secured card with them for almost a year.

i think BofA has a fully secured credit card (the amount you deposit is your credit limit) and a partially secured one 99/500, you deposit 99 and your limit is 500). I think the latter one you cannot just apply for it but its more like a counteroffer BofA provides if you get denied for an unsecured one.

Re: BoA secured?

Hi, I am new to the forum and all I can tell you is that I have the BoA secured card and the deposit , ie. $300.00, would be your credit limit, what ever you deposit with them is the credit limit, and they do report as a secured credit card.  Hope this helps

Aside from the 99 for 500, whatever your deposit amounts to is your CL

That's the way it used to be at least lol
