I just looked at my accounts and these cards are now SLATE.
They are still inferior as far as I can see.
Hi casinoannie...
How can you even tell? My Chase is a former WaMu, and nothing seems to have changed on it. But...when I log in...I see "Credit Card...and then the last 4 digits of my card number." When I click on it, it doesn't even tell me what kind of card it is.
Did you get a new card in the mail?
I have a regular Chase which is now "Slate" with blueprint... My old Wamu now Chase is "Perfect Card"... The type of card show on the summary page:
Account Summary |
Outstanding balance† | $0.00 | See activity
Payment due date | 05/21/2010 | See statement
Minimum payment due | $0.00 | Pay credit card
Balance last statement | $0.00 |
My WaMu CC was converted to the PerfectCard, then to the Freedom. When I log in it still shows Freedom.

Thanks itsjustmeibe...alas...my Summary Page doesn't say anything.
The card in my wallet is grey, and simply says VISA. No other name attached.
It doesn't matter. We don't use ours other than a book club charge each month to hopefully keep it open. I was just curious whether or not I was missing any perks. Looks as if I have a plain-Jane Chase VISA. They haven't contacted me about changing anything. We try to stay waaaayyyy under their radar, though, because this card has a $15k credit line and is an old Providian/WaMu card. We think it's a miracle it's still sitting open with the same credit line. We quit using it back during the time that Chase was closing these accounts without notice to the cardholder until after the fact. We had visions of filling a tank of gas and then getting the card declined (as happened to some forum members). Our 17 y/o daughter also carried the card at that time, and we were afraid that this might happen to her...so, we quit using the card and replaced the line with two new cards in anticipation of its being closed.
Thanks for the info...
I just checked both of my Chamu CCs as well - no change on either, they are still referred to as "Credit Card", and nothing else.
I consider myself lucky that they are still open given how Chase has been dishing out the AA lately, so I am content to leave them as is. I'm not gonna rock the boat to request any kind of PC or conversion, will just wait and see what happens.
One of my two CCs was CLD'd down to a measly $500 last month, so I have been trying to stay out of their crosshairs as much as possible.
They sent me cards awhile ago for Chase and today
when I logged in it showed "you are now Slate with blueprint.
One of my cards was a Providian/Wamu. It doesn't really matter
since I still can't do a BT and they never offer a CLI.
Both of mine also just say "credit card." I think I am particularly unwanted by Chase. Not enough to get rid of, but merely tolerated and not welcome.
Well...I was wrong.
I had a new screen when I logged into Chase yesterday. I thought it was advertising the Slate, and I clicked out of it.
The same screen popped up this morning. It says in the upper right corner in small letters "Your card is now" and then in big letters it says "slate." Yesterday I just saw the big "slate," and that's why I thought it was advertising.
At the bottom there is a button that says "Start Now." I wonder what I'm supposed to start?
I don't understand at all how slate works, and I assume I can just keep PIFing. My credit line is still intact (knock on wood).
casinoannie, thanks for pointing this out. I don't think I ever would have noticed.
When I logged in today everything was gone. I don't understand
