Re: CLI QUESTION

It really depends on the CCC.

Amex: likes heavy usage by PIFers
CITI: the same as Amex but to a lesser extent
BoA/FIA: heavy usage and doesn't get to huffy with moderate balances reporting month to month
Chase: doesn't mind moderate balances and they will auto CLI you

I can't say there is any CCC who'll give CLIs with a card holder who carries big balances...at least not in our current economic downturn.

Chase doubled my CL from $6500 to $13K almost a month ago. Now this was my request and it was a hard inquiry, but at the time I had about $5K-$5,300 and $5K was about where I've had my card since I got it in Nov 07. I think I may have gone down to $4,700 from time to time but was usually around 5K, and they still doubled my CL, which I know helped my utility.
