Capital One just invited me to upgrade my Platinum to a QuickSilver. I called to verify and this is the one without the annual fee. They did it as a PC so it sounds like everything will remain the same except I'll have a 1.5% rewards card. The only problem is, I was just approved for the Citi Double Cash which has slighly better rewards. It's just kind of hard to turn down rewards and no AF. Now the race to see who gives me a bigger CLI faster....... Cap1 just gave me a CLI on my Platinum $500 to $850 so I'm curious what's going to happen when I activate the QuickSilver.
Something I didn't ask is if the upgrade is a MC or Visa. Their website shows the QS as a Visa but they said my account number would stay the same. I'm wondering if this is a QS MC that is only available as an upgrade? All the website says is if your CL is less than $5,000 you get a regular Visa (not the siggy). When I asked about the AF they clearly said there was no AF as I didn't want to have to pay the $39 AF. I guess I'll find out what I get when it shows up in the mail.

Congrats on the upgrade! It will be a MC. You'd have to apply for the Visa.
Ask if your APR will change. Mine did which I PC from Platinum to QS. I still was on credit steps and had a low limit. But I ran a lot through that card, made multiple payments. Instead of getting the promised $250 steps CLI, I received $500 steps increase.
I’ve expanded the cards I carry and have now QS and QS1 in the SD for emergencies. Planning on merging the accounts once QS1 ages to 6 months/complete its steps program.

What were your before and after rates?
This is the first I've ever heard of an APR change with Capital One due to a PC (other than a temporary reduction offer).
I've never heard of an APR change either. Generally, the only thing that changes is the rewards structure. The exception is if one is lucky enough to upgrade a QuicksilverOne. In that case, the annual fee disappears too.
