Hello all,
I was approved for Chase Freedom, 3k, 17.99%. I signed up for the $100 sign up bonus....but because of reading these forums, I learned about the $300 offer. Some other members a few threads back contacted Chase to honor that promo intstead were credited 20,000 points instantly redeemable for $200 check. Thanks to you guys, I did this as well and my check is on its way (and I can still get the original $100 after spending $500 for first 3 months)!!!
This is my second credit card, I already have a green Amex (since Aug '11) -- wish I had done research before applying for green because I now I think I should have applied for BCE instead and I think the Freedom/BCE combo would suit my spending needs.
Anyway, just wanted to share my success!!!
Amex is more stingy with their credit cards (BCE) than charge cards. (green) You might not have gotten the BCE without more history. As it is, building history with Amex with your green card will help get you that BCE soon.

Congrats on the recon!
And Welcome to the forums!!!!!!
Congrats on the Freedom.
Amex credit cards are tough to get compared to the charge cards. Nothing wrong with applying for the BCE before your Green's annual fee hits, if approved you can close the Green if you want.

I got Zync which will hopefully help me get BCP or BCE later on..I don't want to do it until my last baddie falls off!
Thats a good plan, no baddies gives you a better shot at approval!
Congratulations on your new Freedom!
