Closed Credit Card vs. Open Reporting

Hello,

I'm wondering whether a closed credit card account reports the same way as a regular open account.  More specifically, if I pay my closed (due to delinquency) card off timely every month, will I see an increase in my score?

I think the scoring based on (On time vs Late Payments) is the same for both open and closed accounts.

+1  also the late payments will still have the adverse affect on your score

Thanks. That helps me with my decision whether to keep making payments or pay off the account in full!
