As far as the AU question go, you can dispute it with the CRB. AUs do not have financial responsibility to the account. Many have had things like this removed from their report using this reason.
As far as Discover goes, it's a good card and it's a card that will grow with you from what I hear. They were generous with me and gave me a $3500 CL when my next highest was $1250. I've been running it through it's paces hoping that I will get atleast a CLI to $5000 when 6 months hit. However, always have a backup card because not everyone takes Discover.
They are not currently on my report, but I wondered if they could see what is NOT on the report, perhaps by SS # or something like that. I actually got offers in the mail for both but still wondering what would happen if I apply. I want to app for a couple more and then give it a rest, ya know?

If it's not on your CR that you see, it's not on the CR that they see. Unless they are looking at something internal to them
I've heard AMEX blacklists pretty much forever. They will remember if you've screwed them before. But there is some sort of program now from AMEX for people like that, I believe it's called Oasis or something.
In addition, if I had a choice between Discover or AMEX revolving, it would probably choose AMEX. I see more places that take AMEX than Discover. When they tell me that they don't take my Discover, my response is always "but you take AMEx, booo"
Then I wonder why they would send me an offer. I hate to waste an app if there is a big risk involved, I think I have to look at why I think I need either of them!
