I'm a member of CreditCheckTotal(owned by Experian) and thanks to that service I have monitored and nurtured my credit back to better health. However, I do check my credit once per day almost nearly every week. This means a soft pull against my credit.I do this to see what negative files(delinquints,Collections) have fallen off and to protect my self in case of fraud, as well as to guage my process.
Does these soft pulls harm my ability to get future credit?
No, not at all. I don't even think lenders can see soft pulls.
I tried to get a new account for ATT and it said I needed a deposit because of thin file. Is that a soft or hard inq? I did one for VZW and SPRINT too...
No, only you and the bureaus see the soft pull. FICO doesn't "see" it either.

+1. This is the soft pull verbiage directly from my EQ report:
Inquiries that do not impact your credit rating
These inquires include requests from employers, companies making promotional offers and your own requests to check your credit.
These inquiries are only viewable by you.

You'll have to check your reports to know for certain but most phone providers are known to do a hard pull.
I already used my 1 credit report for the year.
How do I go on about deleting it?
Do I let ATT and Verizon know I filed a BBB complaint or just send the letter?
