How long should someone wait before applying..

I was looking at numerous credit unions that are close to me and I wanted to know, how long after joining a CU should someone wait before they apply for a CC.? Does anyone have a story where they were approved for a CC right after joining a credit union?

AEO Visa: $2,300 | CapOne Journey: $500 | Citi Forward for Students $1,500 | Walmart CC $400 (Absolutely shocked, denied twice when reconed limit)

Does PenFed count? As a non-member, when applying for a card you have to join, so this is 0 wait (and in fact the card app comes first!)

I joined NFCU on a Thursday evening, applied for a credit card on Friday morning, and was approved Friday afternoon.

Starting Score: 639 (Walmart TU)
Current Score: TU 688 (myFICO) EX 679 (Credit Sesame) EQ 660 (myFICO)

My brother joined a CU and applied for a CC same day and got approved instantly.

CUs are not like most other lenders. CUs will allow multiple credit products with one pull. You are able to get approved right away for products if eligible.
