I was just thinking about doing this. damn paypal

What was the outcome of this? I'm in the same boat and contemplating just closing out the Smart Connect account and applying for the PPEMC a little while later or doing the 2nd PayPal account option.

Just remember tho that if they give you smart connect again you could end up w a lower limit than what u have now

Unless your CR profile and other factors have significantly improved over time from when you last obtained the PPSC account, then it's likely as djc1puno mentioned above, you may get another PPSC account... but YEMV.
I contacted PayPal via their Twitter account (@AskPayPal), got this nice lady and she checked with their credit department and basically it's a no-go. She suggested I get the PayPal debit card which can be use everywhere (that's the reason I gave her for wanting to PC). Anyone else has better luck please let us know... I just want to be able to use their CL everywhere and not just online.

Are you not wanting the PayPal Debit MC? It would pretty much function as using the CL everywhere once you link the PayPal Debit card to your PPSC account. I doubt GECRB would change their policy anytime soon. There are very rare instances where folks get the invite (test market) to upgrade the PPSC to the actual PayPal Extras MC. But that's almost like venturing to the Moon again.
^ If there's no other choice then yeah, I just might do that. Just want to see if there's any other option out there but like you said, it seems like a trip to the moon. ![]()
My credit factors and score definitely have improved. I also have a CareCredit account they just bumped me from $3500 to $5500 on, so I figure since I have the relationship with them they may go for the MC even on reconsideration if I submit a new app. Either way, me losing the SC account isn't going to kill me considering I've only used it once and would never bother using it again. At a $500 CL it's not doing me any favors and I'm trying to eliminate the lower CL TLs from my credit report.
I'm going to call them tomorrow to cancel and see if there's any offers out there, but more than likely am not expecting anything unless I do a new app.
