Recons

When you call in for a recon, they make the decision while you are on the phone with them. So you pretty much know if it worked or not, but what about those banks who don't do phone recons...

How long does it take when you send a recon letter to hear back from them?

The reason I ask is that I sent Merrick Bank a recon for a Hooters card, two weeks ago, and have heard nothing... do they send another denial letter if denied? Do I keep sending letters until they accept or deny again and again? Is it like a phone recon, keep calling until you get someone nice?

I have done both..

those recon
Discover (phone, denied)
Chase (Mail and phone. I called them and they denied again, on the mail, they called me on the approval)
local credit union (mail, they called me and approved)
WFNNB (mail, denied a 2nd time)
Home Depot (mail, did not answer phone, denied recon by mail)
Capital one

by mail, the 2nd denial within 2 week or a call within a week
via phone, approved or denied a 2nd time on the spot
