My first credit card was a First USA Visa in 1991. I still have it, but after a bank buy-out and a few product changes, it lives on as a Chase Sapphire Preferred. I don't recall the original interest rate, but it's currently 12.24%. The original credit limit was probably $1,800, but now it's $33,700.
@L-TWT wrote:For many of us, our credit cards have grown with us over time and some have not. So I would like people to list their most oldest credit card (only applies to opened accounts), and including the following:
1. card name/lender
2. year opened
3. initial APR
4. initial CL
Then, state where that same credit card is today (please be honest)
So i'll start;
1. Citi dividend card
2. opened 2008
3. APR 14.24%
4. CL= $3,600
Now, that same account has changed to a Citi double cash with an APR 10.74% and CL=$35,000
Capitalone Platinum MasterCard - Opened 3/2011, APR 24.99%, limit $300, annual fee $19.00
2015 - Capitalone QuickSilver MasterCard, APR 17.9%, limit $4,500.00, annual fee none
1. B of A Platinum Plus Visa
2. Opened in 2007
3. Initial APR = 19.99% (or close to that)
4. Initial CL = $500
Current APR = 12.99%; Current CL = $7500
1. RBC Bank Signature Visa
2. Opened 2014
3. APR - who knows
4. $11k
I don't know the APR on any of my cards and don't ever expect I'll need that information (always PIF, every month).
wow, 1991! i was 9yrs old
nice current CL you have with your chase sapphire

so can u PIF my Amex for me?
September 2013:
1. AMEX Blue Cash Preferred
2. Opened 9/2013 (Backdated to 2007)
3. 12.99%
4. $5,600
Although I'm backdated to 2007, I managed that through an AU. It was my first card under my name.
Today, the limit is $1,000 but thats because I transferred $15,000 to my Hilton card. Still 12.99%, effectivley $15,000 limit.

I'll post my datapoint but not sure this tracks for any statistical use other than starter cards? Really virtually nobody should be using their starter cards for main spenders, just can't get the good transaction products with no credit history even for people who find this forum before they go applying.
BOFA secured w/$39 AF
Opened: 10/11
Original Limit: 2000
Wayward deposit limit: 5000
Graduation limit: 2500 in 10/12
Now: unsecured Travel Rewards w/$0 AF
Stayed there since then. No APR changes that I'm aware of, couldn't begin to tell you what it is as I don't track them.

- Total lender exposure factors, so other gained tradelines from the same lender reasonably should factor (vis a vis my BOFA old secured card, which went to tradeline farm status after a year but at the 2 year mark picked up a 9K Fidelity Amex, both from FIA)
- For many starter cards and even non-starter cards, if you don't aggressively chase CLI's with them, it won't grow. This applies to most major lenders. I took a flier on getting a CLI on my original BOFA card because my year one spree had 0 TU pullers in it though it got denied.
- I've barely used the card after I wound up with better rewards packages, and other than USAA none of my financial institutions have been willing to give me auto-CLI's from non-use.

I have to disagree, my starter CC was my Citi Dividend Card opened with a initial CL $3,600, and I used/lived off this CC in college, now converted to a Citi DC and has grown with me over time, known that I'm a "so called Professional"
