Re: has anyone had to report a lost/stolen Chase card?

I just had to report my WAMU lost.  They put freeze on account and will send me a new acct number which is already online so i can log in.  I don't know how they will handle it from the CRA point of view.

If you do see how it turns up (one vs two tradelines, and what is opening date), could you post back and let us know, please?

I can put up with having a second line report for the lost/ stolen card, but the replacement ought to have the original opening date on it. It's not like we set out to open a new account. Smiley Mad

When I have lost my Chase card, they simply issued a new account number after which the old tradeline came off my reports and the new tradeline appeared with all the old history.

TU 791 02/11/2013, EQ 800 1/29/2011 , EX Plus FAKO 812, EX Vantage Score 955 3/19/2010 wife's EQ 9/23/2009 803
EX always was my highest when we could pull all three

OK, that's very reassuring!

annie, you might want to see if this happens on your reports, and if not, call up and raise holy hell.

I actually lost 2.  I found the cap one at my local convenience store but the other is nowhere to be found.  I'll let you know but the new acct numbers are online already. Strange to lose 2.

Never had to do this with Chase, but I did with BofA and Citi (very recently, transaction still in dispute). Both times I just got a new account number and existing TL on my credit reports changed to the new account and kept all the history. I can't imagine Chase would be different than every other CC mentioned in this thread.
