new FNBO 2% card

FNBO Complete Rewards VISA.

Earn 1 point per dollar spent.

If points redeemed for travel, 1 pt = 1.25 cents

If points redeemed to Checking or Savings via ACH 1 pt = 2 cents

if points redeemed for Mortgage principal reduction payments 1 pt = 2 cents

Redeem in amounts of $25, $50, $100 or $250

However, the wording is a bit strange, and those redemption amounts might not apply for ACH transactions.

--------

There is also a FNBO AmEx card with straight 1.5% cash back.

I don't think so. Consider these statements from the Terms:

  • Cash back as an ACH Deposit to any Checking or Savings Account

  • For all ACH deposit checking and savings cash back redemptions, the correct account number must be provided in the redemption form in order for the amount requested to be deposited accordingly. If an ACH deposit is rejected, the redemption will be reversed and the points will be added back to the rewards balance associated with the Account.

If it was only to FNBO accounts, they wouldnt need to use ACH, and you shouldn't have to provide the correct account number. ACH implies external transfers.

Re: new FNBO 2% card

So it's like Amex BCE? You only can redeem 25 dollar increments? That's obnoxious.

Actually, thats rather good.

Other than Blispay, the lowest redemption amount among 2% cash back cards is $25 (Citi Double Cash).

And with the free Experian FICO bankcard score, SP CLI requests every 4 months if you call and ask, its not a bad deal.

Re: new FNBO 2% card

No, I mean is it redeemable anything above 25? Or just 25 dollars or 50 dollars and nothing in between? "Increments" suggests 25, 50, 75 only.

CASH BACK: Only points can be used to redeem for cash back, which cannot be redeemed using a combination of points and a credit card. Cash back is redeemable in denominations of $25, $50, $100, and $250. Cash back in the form of a statement credit will be applied as a credit to the Account. The regular monthly minimum payments shown on the billing statements must still be made. We are not responsible for replacing lost, stolen or destroyed checks. Checks that have not been cashed and cleared within 120 days after the issue date will become void, and the money received as a Reward will be credited to the Account as a statement credit. For all ACH deposit checking and savings cash back redemptions, the correct account number must be provided in the redemption form in order for the amount requested to be deposited accordingly. If an ACH deposit is rejected, the redemption will be reversed and the points will be added back to the rewards balance associated with the Account.\

---------------

They have 2 completely different forms of cash back redemption. Cash back as statement credit or check is only 1 pt = 1 cent. That paragraph starts out talking about statement credit, and ends talking about ACH cash back, which is 1 pt = 2 cents. I THINK the initial line about redeeming in denominations of $25, $50, $100, and $250 probably applies to both forms of cash back redemption.

Re: new FNBO 2% card

Thanks for the heads up about the new card. But why go through all these potential hoops when there's plenty of other cards? Even Blispay is better..

So this looks more painful than the Blue Cash series. For $75 I have to do a $25 and a $50 etc

Re: new FNBO 2% card

Ugh yeah. Double cash lets you do any amount over $25 so you don't get leftovers
