PFD/GW AFNI

Hello everyone! I'm curious if anyone has ever had any luck with PFD or GW when dealing with AFNI. I currently have one old collection for $157 (OC Charter Communications) that I would like to pay off and another paid collection (OC Verizon Online) I would like to have removed - both of them were given to AFNI to collect. I am sending a PFD and GW to AFNI for each of the accounts. I was just wondering what other people may have experienced with AFNI so that I may know what to expect.

Good luck dealing with those people.  I fought with them for 18 months before the collection they were reporting was removed.  I ended up paying them half of the amount they say I owed them so it would be removed.  I sent numerous letters explaining they were wrong and I did not owe them anything.  I even called the original creditor and talked to them but they said they could not help me because it had been so long they did not have any records.  I eventually sued them in state court and they called to resolve the matter.  I paid them the money to save time and not have to go through the headache of court.

Re: PFD/GW AFNI

Funny thing happened this afternoon...The paid collection that I was going to send a GW letter to AFNI about was deleted from my EX CR. I disputed it as not mine a couple of days ago because it was not showing as paid. (it was paid on 11/21) Talk about a bonus. Here is what I am afraid of: Will AFNI still report it as paid even though they obviously told EX that they could not verify the account 72hrs after I disputed it. Or maybe, just maybe did my luck just turn for the better?

Re: PFD/GW AFNI

I recevied a threaten letter from AFNI regarding a old Verizon bill for $115 i had back in 2004. I'm going to send them a PFD. I know the debt is mine, but they finally sent me a letter to my new address after all these years. I don't see it on my credit reports as yet though.
