Please Help

ok, i am in the process of getting pre-approved. I have 11 accounts that have "customer disputes" in the comments that I need removed. Called the CRA's and they all said you have to call the creditots that put the remarks there. My problem is, most of these accounts are unpaid. Can i contact them and ask them to remove the remarks and that i no longer dispute without having them re-age the accounts?  I do not want to open up a can of worms, but i need these remarks removed yesterday...any advice?

Re: Please Help

I am certain they will begin active collection on them if you call to get the dispute removed, and they aren't going to be very likely to help you remove the comment unless you call ready to pay.

You're stuck on this one, unfortunately.  The "udpate" isn't the problem, really, since FICO scores off Date of First Delinquency.  I have an oooollld truck account that was included in my BK in 2005, and they STILL update it every month, it doesn't hurt my score each month they update.

I just don't see how you can get away w/o paying them.  You should try to arrange PFD.

Good Luck!

Re: Please Help

Maybe i am just talking to the wrong people at the CRA's. after some research here, it seems others have gotten the remarks removed through them? Thank you for responding!

Re: Please Help

Keep using the search box and there's a post by Shanethemortgageman with instructions on removing disputes.

But, keep in mind, if they are collections, the lender could still make you pay them to get approved.

How old are they?  How much are they?  (you obviously don't have to tell but then you could get more advice on what people think.  if they're small and old then you might get away with it... and by small, I mean pretty small.)  I had a bunch, some down to only 37.00, and they ALL had to be paid for me to be approved.

Very true. You might trigger collections effort from the creditors. Also for your mortgage, the loam officer might want to see the collections paid; that has been my experience. They did ask me to pay a collection that I had and show them proof that it was paid.

Re: Please Help

Well 5 of the 11 are collection accounts..all from like 2005-2006 amounts range from 560 up to $1058 and then there is the really bad item of a $10,321 charge off from a car repo from 2007...im well aware i will have to pay this, and will do it soon as we close on the sell of our current home. Looks like we are getting an offer friday and will hopefully close 30 daya after
