Authorized User question

My mother is doing a balance transfer on one of her cards and said she will add my finacee and I on as AU's to the new one if we want to help our scores. It will be a high limit card, so would that out weigh the hit we might take on AOAA? Only asking because I know it should take a hit a bit, but when I added him on as an au on my 6 month old card he got a 10 point boost. I am kinda iffy on it because I don't want to take too much of a hit.

Re: Authorized User question

If the card has longer history than any of yours you shouldn't take a hit because your AAoA is longer now, not shorter.

Did your fiancee have any existing CC that were younger or older than yours?

Re: Authorized User question

Yeah he has one that is almost 2 years old, and he added me as an AU for that one and mine went up 9 points. That's why I was surprised his went up  10 as an AU on my card that is only 6 months old.
