Auto loan closed but with PAID charged off

Long story short, I thought my auto loan was paid off. I didn't fully check it because I was an idiot but my last two months were laid so I made a double payment lump sum. They sent title and thought it was all good. This was on 9/15

I grabbed my report today and it says they closed it with PAID charged off from what I understand any charge off, even paid, is negative. What do I do now?

Re: Auto loan closed but with PAID charged off

A loan is not required to be charged-off under federal reguations until it is 120 days late.

How old was the delinquency when you finally paid the loan?  You may be able to obtain removal of the CO as being a premature holding under federal regs as having become uncollectible.

I would first call and have an informal chat with the creditor before filing complaints or disputes.

Good will would be my first attempt at obtaining their voluntary removal of the reported CO.
