Capital One Deletion Success!!!!!

YES!!!!!

 

I will not be denied. After sending an email to the EO office last month and getting turned down by a rep, I tweaked my email and sent it again.

 

Success! I received a call from a very nice rep, who said it would take a few business days to look into. She called me with the good news today!!! The whole process took a week.

 

So excited!! I do have to deal with Portfolio Recoveries, though. However a rep there mentioned they could take the collection off if Capital One removed their tradeline. I'm calling them next.

 

Just wanted to share. It looks like Capital One isn't completely against goodwill.

Can you please share with us what you said in your goodwill and the circumstances of the chargeoff?   It would help the rest of us a lot in approaching them.

Sure. I lost my job in 2013, got in a slump and just ignored everything since I couldn't pay. This led to defaulted school loans and two charged off CCs(Cap 1 and Chase).

Here's my letter:

 

Dear representative of the Capital One Executive Office,
 
How are you today?
I have an out of the box request and I would love to see if you could oblige. I
am in the process of credit restoration to buy a new home, and a negative
factor on my credit report is a charge off from my old Journey Visa card.
 
Acct #XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
 
Now I do understand the integrity of the credit reporting system, I am also
aware that you all are legally required to report Fair and Accurate information.
Thus not compromising the integrity of the credit game. I am also aware that on a case by case basis, Capital One has allowed goodwill trade line deletions for some customers.

Please understand I am in no way disputing the validity of the report. I am merely asking for an extension to remove this trade line recorded on my account for credit reporting purposes. I realize this is something that is normally not granted. I won’t bore you with a long sob story over why I should receive your favor. Long story short: It was one of my first cards, and after I lost my job, I was unable to make the necessary payments on it. 
Capital One has already granted me a second chance in the form of a secured card. I am hoping you can grant a second chance for my credit report.
 
Are you able to review my account and potentially remove this derogatory
reporting?

Please give me an e-mail back or call if someone can discuss this further!
