Thank you so much. Citi Bank is reporting wrong.
And also do a BBB complaint, the other posters here seem to have luck with those. I am going to do that next if this current dispute doesnt' work...
Holy BS Batman! Same thing happened to me. Paid off Home Depot/Citi card through DMP in June 2011. All of a sudden, in Feb 2012, start to report me as 120+ days late. My CR shows $0 balance no late payments anywhere - I was up to date when I joined DMP. Anyone think its curious that this all seemed to start this past Feb.? Disputed with all 3 CRA's but all of them verified. They did remove a charge-off but it still says "Paid Collection". One also said " paid less than owed" which was a crock. All the DMP was lower my interest to 9.99 from 26.99. Paid every penny I owed.
Have you tried writing a letter directly to Citi or calling? I would try sending a letter plus all documentation showing you were current at the time you entered into DMP. I really don't believe they can mark us late during a DMP when they are the ones that accepted the plan. And , I was never told my credit report would show late payments. It's obviously a reporting issue with Citi, try the BBB thing if a dispute direct with Citi doesn't work....and keep us posted with your progress, I will do the same.
Yeah, the fact that we all had this show up in FEB sounds like an error or something!
BTW, I disputed with all three and sent letters directly to all three and they all came back verified...boiler plate letter, didn't even look at my documentation or investigate as far as I can tell!!!
So if they are reporting wrong, do we have to initiate a dispute? Or will they report again for everyone?
Mine is paid off and showing as a charge off as well! URGH!
According to them, they arent' reporting wrong, but I and others here on the board disagree. You will have to dispute with CB and Citi, and see if they will remove it. If not, try the BBB dispute and if it works let us all know.
I got a call today. this event affected 100,000 citi accounts. I guess they tried to change how they report all the debt management accounts. and now i'm told they made a bisseness desction that it is "unfair" to back report closed out accounts as collections from years ago.
umm no crap citi, in fact doesn't that go agains the FCRA ? they can't jsut change there mind after the fact right?
I'm thinking this some how got to there leagal department and and are now back tracking there changes. ?
any way i'm told they are putting in a fix tomarrrow and sending it the CA on friday. so hopfully soon this will all drop off.
Update: they removed the 120 day late (Feb 2012) on my Shell card today. This was the account that was paid off and closed three years ago. Still reporting as a paid collection though....this sucks. Tired of disputing, everythime I do, something else pops up!
Thanks for the update Turbo...I hope that "fix" takes care of my Shell account reporting as a "paid collection:"
Fingers-crossed!
I was also told the charge off on TU was TU fault and they are working on a fix so who knows when that will get fixed
