When you send a PFD request, if its accepted and you pay can that specific debt come back on your report from another CA and you still be held responsible?
Im probably not the best one to answer this but things you should definately know:
1. The CA is authorized to make a deal like that for the OC and if accepted with the PFD sample letter floating around here being fulfilled then i would say no.
And if it ever does you will have the evidence to prove its been paid.
2. Some Ca's get paid for what they get from the OC and make false promises like yeh the OC is fine with that or even that they own the bill. Like mentioned before make sure they really can collect and make a deal by calling the OC which will also tell you if the account is actually been sold. This will only remove the CA tradeline not the OC's. Try to get everything in writing before sending any money.
Hope I helped a little
I thought the CA has power of attorney with the OC regardless if the debt was sold or assigned and what ever deal the CA makes the OC must comply with the terms.
What you stated does not make sense to me because if the debt was sold to a CA and you settled with them the charge off would still remain OC reporting, there would be no incentive to pay the debt.
