Wow... that's quite a bit of difference in the models.   I know when I refianced my car, they were 8 days apart, and not scored differently.  I would assume then it's how it was coded.

Yeah, I think the coding is what matters most.  In a perfect world all the inquiries would be coded correctly and alike, but I get the feeling that's not status quo

As for the differences in the models; You can tell they've modernized them quite a bit.  People don't go and sit down at a dealership, pick out a car on the lot, and then rate shop a few times anymore.  You may find 3 cars in 3 different states browsing online, rate shop each dealer, rate shop your CU, and over the course of a month make your purchase.

Re: soft Pull

So will using a credit monitoring service count as a soft pull or a hard pull? I know Credit Sesame just started offering credit monitoring at http://www.creditsesame.com and I was going to try using it. They get their information from Experian right?

Re: soft Pull

Yes, Creditsesame monitors EX.  Anytime you check your own credit it's a soft pull.  Checking your own CRs will not lower your scores or count as as a Hard Inquiry.
