I am looking to apply for a mortgage. Which score & model do the majority use? Can I buy that score just to see where I am at? If so, where?
You want the FICO EX 04 / EQ 04 / TU 04 series of scores.
The EQ 04 score, also called Beacon 5, is available to DCU members and also direct from the EQ web site.
If you buy the latter, I'd make sure you're getting the FICO score and not one of the FAKOs that EQ and EX / TU sell.
If you want to get this score frequently, I'd consider joining DCU.

+1 Just to reiterate what user5387 stated, you have to look PAST there homepage to purchase the real EQ 04 score.

The first link below confirms that the Equifax Score Power product is EQ 04 / Beacon 5.0.
The second link is to the product page. It's $20 a shot.

Just as a heads up, joining DCU will be a hard inquiry: not what you want if you're in the run-up to a mortgage. Purchase from Equifax directly especially if you're within six months of applying for the mortgage.
