Yesterday I went to a car dealership to try and trade in my 07 Expedition for a brand new hyundai. I got there at 10 am and by 2 pm I haven't heard nothing from the banks, they told me that I have a beacon score of 720 and that I qualify for their their one rates, but the banks haven't gotten back. So I ask for a copy of the sales contract and I took it to Pen fed credit union and they turn me down. My 07 expedition was finance for 38,000 and the car I am trying to get is also at 39,260.00. Why would they denied my if the dealer said I have a good beacon score? One of the reason was that my credit is new, I have had 3 cars, 2 credit cars, and they consider that new? The other was that my credit wasn't strong enough for that amount, well why would ford then approve me for my 07? What I am trying to say is, does anyone knows what score dose pen fed likes? Know also, my credit was run twice yesterday once by the dealership, and the other by the credit union, I was wondering if I go to another credit union such as fort Bragg credit union and they run my credit will my beacon be dropping?and does anyone has experience with fort Bragg, do they approve with a beacon score of 720? I myself make 4000 a month and my wife makes 3,728.23 a month so adding that up will be like 7,728.23 a month, our expenses are 4 credit cards in total and we owe like 1,200 if we add up all the balances in the cc, we have a mortgage 625.00 a month and that's all we have of expenses a month. So should I try fort Bragg credit union? Will my beacon drop?what are my changes? the dealer is trying to approve me for a 8.35 apr. and i swa the credit union are way lower and thats why i am trying them. Can anyone recomend other places in fayetteville nc?
my guess is that the trade in value of the 07 expedition is way below the payoff and they willnot finance the negative equity (as far as to why the dealer said no). How much do you owe on the expedition. It's trade in value is probably under 20K now and unless you put a lrage chunck down it will not be paid down below trade in value. With the current credit market, they are usually looking for 10% down minimum plus tax/license. So it may be an issue of not being able to get a deal done based on the old vehicle as a trade in.
