Please put yourself on automatic debit from your checking account, since you are paying by check anyway. It's such a high price to pay for being late. Seven years on your credit report and instant denials until the late pay ages. I have gone through that until my late pays finally aged. Mailing a check via snale-mail so old-school.
What was the date the check cleared your bank in relation to the due date?
The payment cleared they're bank on 4/13. It cleared my bank on 4/16. The payment was due on 4/13. I usually pay this account online but it was in my wife's BK then later reaffirmed so I was momentarily unable to pay online. Nothing was changed about the account itself. I am a co-borrower on it.

How long did that take? I've got one on all 3 reports from 26 months ago -- yes, the GW letter went out this week.

I can't remember where on the internet I read this but it was something like this:
*30-day and 60-day late payments will affect your score for three years - I watched my reports closely to see if this was true and it was. When my lates reached this age I noticed my score would increase.
*90-day and 120-day late payments affect the score the full seven years.
