First time poster, so please be kind if this has been posted before. I took out an auto loan in 11/06, my credit was pretty poor so I had to have a co-applicant. I've paid the bill every month on time and sometimes paid more than what was necessary. Last year (3/09) I got my free reports and the loan didnt come up on any of them. I called Americredit and they didnt have my SSN on the loan. I faxed them the paperwork and now its there correctly. I talked to the credit bureaus and they said it could take 2 months for the info to begin to post, but it would include the history of the loan and that would help improve my scores. I just got my free reports this year and the loan still isnt on there! I talked with Americredit and they said they report to all 3 bureaus and the bureaus said if Americredit was reporting, they would have the info. Its getting pretty frustrating. I've had some troubles i the past and have really put forth alot of effort to get my reports clean and this could go a long way to improving my score. Has anyone ever run into this before? Any ideas??
Welcome to the forums!
I wish I had your problem. I'd give anything to get them to pop off my CRs.
You'll have to bug them until they relent. Keep calling until they said they'll start reporting. Wait 30-45 days then repull your reports to see if it's there and repeat if necessary. Per reporting, they are very stubborn but some had success with reporting issues by escalating towards the top of the management chain. This does happen from time to time with other creditors.
