what should I do?
Have a cocktail.
It really is not that important.
As long as they are not updating you as late or anything derog, sometimes some months get missed and no info is reported.
when comparing all 3 of my credit reports there are occasional blanks spots on one bureau from the other on the same account, and I do not mean just Ford.
as long as you are not getting incorrect negative info, and as long as the info in the Box (loan particulars) does not change, it really is inconsequential.
Have a cocktail!!!
Yes, I did missread that.
Sorry.
Four month seems a little tardy to say the least. I could see two or three from purchase date esp if there were contract or MSO issues.
Check and see if they have the correct social, name and address.
If we assume purchase was done through a dealership:
Call your dealership ask to speak to your finance person and see if there were any problems with the contract.
Tell your concerns to the finance person who handled your deal.
And...have a cocktail
You have a contract, you have a payment history, you have made your payments on time and have records of that...
When I had my loan with Ford Credit the loan showed up on my credit report in about 21 days from the date I signed the papers. This was back in 2003.
They may have changed the way they do things these days. I have no idea.
I wasn't a hawk back then, but Ford reported my loan while I was paying it. It has been paid off now for a couple of years but it always showed up and showed accurate. I don't know why you're seeing a delay other than what has been mentioned.
I've found Ford Credit incredibly easy to deal with though. I'm in the middle of GW'ing some late's and I have the feeling from correspondence from them that they're going to play ball!
I found Ford credit easy to deal with too, back several years ago when I went through financial issues with ARM resets, foreclosure threats etc. like many people do now. Ford allowed us to reschudule our payments to the end of the loan several times for a small fee without affecting our on-time payment history on our credit reports.
Can't help you why it is not appearing yet.
I would not call the Dealership.. I would go to the dealership yourself if you live close enough and ask to speak to the Finance Director. Explain the situation and they can usually just pick up the phone and talk to Ford and get something resolved while you are there.
If not resolved you will have an answer of some sort. I find it is harder to put something on the "back burner" if the person is sitting in front of you lol .....plus its just good customer service/relations to handle the problem right there.
You never know maybe there were some problems with your deal and there was a delay of some sort in getting all of the paperwork back and forth from Ford and the Dealer .... I would definitely go to the dealer in person.
Good luck!
