I do plan to apply online to a CU and Cap1, so I should have a better idea what I'm in for when I visit a dealer. I guess it's just the anticipation and anxiety that's killing me.

This was a fantastic idea! Understanding it's a soft-pull only; I need to lower my utilization; and I'm waiting on a baddy to fall off....
Cap1 says up to 35K, APR varies from 6.95% to 13.94%. Playing with the estimator tool, it looks more realistic to see it around 8.18 to 9.77 for the particular make, model, and mileage range I'm eyeing. Naturally, that will vary, I'm sure.

I'd try look elsewhere besides Cap1. You can do better than their rates.
