Approved for lower APR than NFCU lists on their website

Hello,

I was approved for a pre-approval with NFCU on a new vehicle (found a place willing to go below MSRP, thankfully).

Their site is showing rates 37-60 months APR as 2.19% as the lowest. However, I had manual review when I applied late at night and was approved the next morning for 1.94% for up to 60 months, beating their listed rate.

My question is: Is this common? I've never seen this before and the dealership didn't even try to match/beat it.

EDIT: It seems it may be active duty discount which is .25%, I've just never seen it go below advertised rate of website.

Congrats on the great rate and approval !!   I think that's what you're seeing, the discount on top of the best advertised rate.

Did you have any previous installment loan history with NFCU ?   What scores did they provide along with your approval ?

Re: Approved for lower APR than NFCU lists on their website

Thank you. Yes, I've had an auto loan with them in 2016-2020. Always paid extra and was months ahead, that rate was around 4%, however.

I've had 2 credit cards with them for several years. I've paid 1 of them off completely every month, the other sometimes has a small balance (still paying above minimum). In addition, I've completed the special easy start certificate last year with the max amount of 3k. They also have my main direct deposit since before even joining the military, so since 14-15.

I'm  guessing my internal score must be high to get such a good rate. My score they pulled in the letter said 719 with TU. I didn't see the internal score on the letter like previous loan, however.
