I am going to be buying a new car - specifically a Nissan.
I wanted to get pre-approved first so that I would know ahead of time how much money I have to purchase with. I originally went through the main Nissan website and was declined immediately. The response told me to apply through the dealer because the main NIssan website pre-approval is much more stringent. I called the finance department and went through the pre-approval today.
They pre-approved me for 28k and require no proof of income. I was kind of surprised because I am self-employed. However, when I bought my car through CarMax in 2005 they never asked for proof of income. Anyway, I am approved through National Bank. I have never heard of them but the Finance Manager said that they are NOT a subprime bank.
Does anyone have experience financing through National Bank?
