Im considering applying for an auto loan but at the moment can't verify my income, my sibling on the other hand has his w2 form from last year and can proboably verify his income but his scores at the moment aren't as high as mine. Mine are around 660-670ish (not that great I know) and his are 640 TU 630 EQ.
I know we proboably won't get top tier rates in the beginning but later down the road we can fix that and refi.
My question is: Since my scores are a bit higher could I possibly apply for the loan as the main applicant and add my brother on as a co applicant or joint applicant and if the loan officer requests income verification, I can simply give his W2 docs? Because we both work at the same place.
Any updates?
Based on experience ur score isn't consider the best isn't the worst. Depend on if u have recent late payment for anything or if u have any collection or detorg on ur report and how old if none of that they will most likely just ask what's ur income and not really ask for ur w2 or paycheck stub

Yes I got a great car! I got the Chevy Equinox 2013 LTZ with all the bells and whistles for around 23-28K (I don't remember exactly how much) but it's got remote start, auto trunk open, LCD, navigation, Sirius, everything! It's got 19K miles but the dealer gave me 5 year extended warranty! And I got tire protection etc.
Might not be a stellar deal but coming from my 2001 clunker that was a cash vortex that it was, I love this car!
This is my first car loan and they gave it to me at 4.99% APR.
This will also give me installment loan history which will make it much easier and possible for me to apply to big bank companies/ Credit unions in the future (got denied by all because of the insufficient auto loan history).
Just curious about what you did with income verification?
Buying a car is different from a house.. A car ur credit is good they don't care... U can say any income u want "stated" and they be ok.. Normally is when u have a crappy score is when they want proof of income. With ur score u should of been able to do financing on whole amount

Glad it worked out for you but I am curious and you don't have to answer if this is too personal...
How is he able to prove income and you cannot if both you have the same employer and source of income?
