Auto Loan

Should i just go into a dealership and see if they can get me approved or should i go to our credit union? i have had a auto loan for 6 months never missed a payment i make 25k and my husband makes 42k scores are tu 616 and 521 what chances do we have of getting approved for 22k?

Go to the CU first.   They will tell you what rates you will qualify for given your DTI, previous auto loan history, etc...

 

After you have done this go to the dealer and see if they can beat the rate.   Don't get pulled into the "what kind of monthly payment do you want' discussion with the dealer.  Negociate based on price, and then see if they have a better deal on the financing.   If not then just go with the CU.

Ditto on the CU. Going to the dealer will also result in half-dozen to a dozen inquiries as well. They won't pull from just one bank. While FICO will ignore the duplicates, it'll bug you nonetheless.
